Fluorinar-C™ Kynar® 3D Filament

Nile Polymers is excited to announce our new Fluorinar-C™ filament made from Arkema’s Kynar® PVDF copolymer.  Currently available in 2.85 mm diameters in a white color, our 3D printing filament is ideal for printing large parts that remain perfectly flat during the printing process and after cooling. Outstanding properties of our Fluorinar-C™ filament include:

  • PVDF print sizes are only limited by machine print volume or filament length
  • Bottom print layer remains perfectly flat without using brims or rafts
  • No loss of part dimensions due to warping
  • No warping due to sharp corners on the printed part
  • Fully compatible with Fluorinar-H™ filament in multi-extrusion printers

Significant design or size limitations that exist for other PVDF filaments are no longer a problem for the Fluorinar-C™. For the first time, printed part sizes are limited by printer build volume or the amount of filament in the spool. The above Schedule 80 2-inch flange with a 6-inch pipe stub was printed with 100% infill and weighs almost 600 g.

Fluorinar-C™ filament provides high-quality prints for prototypes, one-off parts or small production runs. These prints can be used in environments which exceed the capabilities of other 3D print materials.  Fluorinar-C™ can also be used as an adhesion layer to help prevent warping in Fluorinar-H™ prints. Fluorinar-H™ Kynar® 3D Filament

Nile Polymers is pleased to announce our new Fluorinar-H™ filament made from Arkema’s Kynar® PVDF homopolymer.  Available in 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm diameters in a natural color, our 3D printing filament is ideal for printing applications in chemical or high-temperature environments.  Outstanding properties of our PVDF filament include:

  • Long-term performance in direct contact with HCl, H2SO4, HF and HBr

There are no perfect materials for every 3D printing application.  However,  Fluorinar-H™ filament will provide high-quality prints for prototypes, one-off prints or small production runs> These prints can be used in environments which exceed the capabilities of other 3D print materials.  Fluorinar-H™ parts are made to be used and not stored on the shelf.  When you need Kynar® PVDF, nothing else will work.

Our PVDF filament is a low surface energy material so it does not adhere well to most surfaces.  Print adhesion can be tough to achieve unless you know one thing: Elmer’s disappearing purple glue stick.  Apply a thin layer of this adhesive evenly to a clean glass print surface.  Heat the printing bed to 100 C and extrude the Fluorinar™ filament at 240 – 260 C.  Print speed can be set between 20 – 40 mm/s.  Turn off the print surface cooling fans and get ready to see results as good as any other material available today.
